First AAAI Symposium on Quantum Information & Machine Learning (QIML)

Bridging Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence

November 6-8, 2025

Arlington, VA, USA

About the Symposium

We invite contributions that explore the intersection of quantum computing and machine learning, including but not limited to:

Quantum Information and Machine Learning (QIML) is an emerging field that leverages quantum algorithms to potentially revolutionize AI paradigms. The goal of this Fall Symposium is to bring together participants from academia, industry, and government to explore how QIML, along with classical ML and High Performance Computing research, are currently being expanded to support various fields in science and engineering. Recent advancements in quantum hardware and quantum algorithms have enabled promising applications in classification, regression, generative modeling, optimization, and reinforcement learning. The AAAI Fall 2025 symposium will bring together leading researchers from academia, industry practitioners, and emerging scholars to explore cutting-edge theoretical advancements, novel methodologies, and practical applications, as well as to discuss current challenges. The event will foster interdisciplinary dialogue to highlight both visionary and preliminary work, identifying key challenges and opportunities that quantum technologies present. The symposium will be organized around several topics within QIML, which include, but are not limited to: :

Areas of Interest

  • Quantum algorithms for classical AI tasks
  • Quantum-inspired machine learning techniques (QML)
  • Quantum Reinforcement Learning
  • Quantum Neural Networks & Graph Neural Networks
  • Quantum Generative Models
  • Variational Quantum Classifiers and Regressors
  • Quantum data encoding methods
  • Classical AI/ML for quantum systems
  • Scalability and hardware considerations
  • Applications of QC and QML
  • Hybrid Quantum-Classical (QC+HPC) Computing
  • Ethical considerations in QC and QML

Registration and Hotel Information

As we get closer to the Fall Symposium, this is a friendly reminder to take care of two important items if you haven’t already. Symposium Registration: Please ensure that you are registered for the event. Please use this link to find information regarding registration: AAAI Symposium Registration

Hotel Reservations: AAAI has a block of rooms reserved at the Marriott. The cut-off date for reservations is October 18, so please make your booking before then to secure the group rate. Reserve your room here: 👉 Book Your Hotel Room: Book Your Hotel Room Reserved at the Marriott

Submissions

We are accepting paper submissions for position, poster, artifacts, or research articles. All submissions must follow the instructions of the AAAI author kit and be submitted through the AAAI EasyChair site. The review is single-blinded.

Authors have the opportunity to have their work published with AAAI Press as an official AAAI Proceeding. If authors do not want their papers published they should ignore camera-ready copy instructions from proceedings-questions@aaai.org. If the authors do not submit anything by the Camera Ready deadline then we will assume that they do not want their paper published in AAAI proceedings.

Full Papers

6-8 pages describing significant work on the symposium topics.

Position Papers

2-4 pages (excluding references) discussing topics of interest.

Artifact Papers

2-4 pages (excluding references) describing software tools or libraries.

Poster Papers

2-4 pages for visual presentation of ongoing research.

Important Dates

  • Paper Submission Deadline: August 7, 2025 ("Deadline EXTENDED")
  • Decision Notification: August 23, 2025 ("date updated")
  • Camera Ready Deadline: September 2, 2025 ("date updated")
